sometimes we need a reminder
This is for makers. It’s a reminder.
It’s something we all know.
But sometimes we forget.
The thing that makes an artist an artist
is the act of making art.
It’s not past art, and how great it was.
Or future art, and how great it will be.
It’s in progress art, and what you’re making,
now.
The thing that makes an artist an artist
isn’t the awards or accolades
(rightly deserved or not)
it’s the act of making art.
Part of us knows this.
But sometimes we need a reminder.
The act of making art, makes us an artist.
future FO
I’m always working on some project or another, which means I often have FOs and new designs to share. You can see all my FOs … here … and all my designs … here.
but this project is a future FO not a right now FO.
Almost finishing something obviously means I get to start something new.
Right?
The colors are a little bit teeth-rotting-sugar-candy-sugar-colored, but that’s what I love about them.

I’m thinking just a couple more rows before the bind off. YAY!
While the colors on this second photo are awful, you can see the garter/stockinette detailing better.
And because of the garter/stockinette patterning, I think the back is just as interesting as the front.
I’ve spent the past week editing away on the Shawl Geometry book. I’m super excited!
