I’m always working on some project or another, and most weeks I talk about what I’m working on Wednesday evenings as part of Tami’s WIP Wednesday project. You can see all my WIP Wednesdays … here.
I cast on a new shawl yesterday while killing time between meetings.
I always think shawls at the itty bitty stages of being look cute when they’re so tiny. This one is only about 3 inches in diameter so far. It’s a little finicky to knit at the moment, but it’ll get less finicky as the shawl grows.
I’m still working on my first shawl of 2013. But I’m close enough to see the ending, even though there’s a lot of knitting between now and then. I’m through the huge mesh section (if you follow my on twitter, you already know that), and back into the stockinette, right before a final mesh boarder.

It’s already so pretty! It looks like a little snowflake 🙂
I agree, it looks really cute at that size. It also looks like it’s going to be really intricate and beautiful.
Thanks! I hadn’t thought of that but it kind of does look like a snowflake.
I love them when they are small, and taut on the needles. It’s when they become behemoth and hundreds of sts that they become a drag. LOL! Maybe I could just make a bunch of doll doilies?
Or you could make a series and frame them. 🙂
It is VERY cute. I have not knit a shawl yet but I think that is in the making as I just bought some lace weight yarn with a nice lil halo. Oh boy!
You can totally knit a shawl. Just go slowly, be sure to follow all the instructions, and keep track of your place in the pattern.
Personally I would start with a smooth yarn that doesn’t have a halo. That way you can see your stitches more easily.
