bits & pieces, and a sweater body

Each Wednesday, I post a snapshot of the projects I’m working on, and where my brain is at.

This week has been one of those weeks where I feel like I’ve done a ton of things, but the only thing I have to show for it is more progress on the body of a sweater. I feel like everything else this week has been tying up loose ends, or making tweaks, or waiting on something to come back with notes, or running errands, or other small bits and pieces like that. And it’s amazing how much time those things take!

Regardless, I’m still managing to add a couple inches to my sweater each night, and so it’s coming along nicely.

all in all a quite week of knitting

Pretty quiet week this week.

I spent a couple evenings working away on my Fairchild sweater by Bristol Ivy. I’ve split for the armholes, and am now working on the increases in the main body of the sweater. This pattern is fantastic mindless knitting, because it’s stockinette in the round with occasional increases, but there are some interest construction details to look forward to.

Shawl Geometry Book Three edits continue. They’re progressing, but agonizingly slowly.

Who Wears Who Halloween 2017 Everyday Goth 7

Fall has arrived, and I cast on for a new sweater! I got a sweater knitting itch a couple nights ago, pulled out a bag of Classic Elite’s Inca Alpaca and cast on for Bristol Ivy’s Fairchild sweater pattern.

This might be a bit of a knitting adventure, since my stitch gauge is spot on, but my row gauge is pretty far off. Or it might turn out perfectly, since I like my sweaters on the longer side anyway. Either way, I’m loving having a relaxed knitting project on the needles. It’s making a really nice break between doing the final proof of the third Shawl Geometry book.

Yesterday was Halloween, and over on Who Wears Who I pulled together a last minute low-key Halloween look, find out more about the look here.
